Eon: Dragoneye Reborn

Hey everyone! This isn't on a book club day, but I think this book deserves sharing. I read it a while back, but really enjoyed it.

The book is Eon: Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman. It's a pretty long one, 531 pages. There is also a sequel that came out recently, called Eona. I have yet to read the sequel, but it sounds amazing.

Eon has been studying the ancient art of Dragon Magic for four years, hoping he'll be able to apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune. But he also has a dark secret. He is actually Eona, a sixteen-year-old girl who has been living a dangerous lie for the chance to become a Dragoneye, the human link to an energy dragon's power. It is forbidden for females to practice the Dragon Magic and, if discovered, Eon faces a terrible death. After a dazzling sword ceremony, Eon's affinity with the twelve dragons catapults him into the treacherous world of the Imperial court where he makes a powerful enemy, Lord Ido. As tension builds and Eon's desperate lie comes to light, disaster builds in another part of the country. The lords of the Imperial Court say that only Eon can stop the tornado. As you keep reading, the secret will come to light for you to see.

One warning though-this is a challenging read. Not only is it long, but very complicated. It is also a 15+ suggestion, but if you have read mature books before, you should be fine.

Yours,
Nora
